Great watch, good humor!

Awesome watch. THE PERFECT MASALA MOVIE.

One of the best comedy tracks of all time. Never bores to watch it a second time. Koundamani sets the screen on fire. Kamal at his best, and great supporting acts all round from all the actors. Combines to give a total comedy-action-love-sentiment movie which was to be the precursor of the movies of today. (which frankly are awful compared to this one).

This movie's got heart. It never pretends to be what its not. It will genuinely lighten your mood and keep you in good spirits.

Not to say, its got awesome music by Ilayaraaja. Sags a bit towards the end, but the makers have done a good job stitching together a senseless story which entertains the audience to date.

Life Lessons from the Land of the Dead

I guess this film is not well known because it isn't easy to categorize and it defies the conventions of any genre. If you don't consider that a bad thing - which is to say, if you actually like movies that challenge convention and make one uncomfortable, this is A material. The film is a VERY dark comedy, very clever, very squeamish (unless you enjoy hanging out in mortuaries), and quite frankly, different from most everything else out there in movie rental land. I also found it refreshing to see elderly people who were not dotty, and morality tales intertwined within thriller twists. The film does share some qualities of the good films that the Coen Brothers used to make, but it seems to be less interested in playing into genre expectations. Rob LaBelle does a fine job of letting us inside his head, and the supporting cast are all glorious. The movie is only slow if you crave the MTV-Hollywood glossy glucose fix of adrenaline. Slow movies often provide a rich, rewarding experience, and this movie is no exception to that rule. A definite gem!

True love has no obstacles.

True love has no obstacles that cannot be overcome. "Yeh Mohabbat Hai" has all the elements that make a film great. Johnny Lever is as usual a top comic. Rahul(Chand) and Mohini(Shaheen) are very raw and very real in their performance. This movie deserves a 10. It has a hit number named after the title, and truly is just marvelous stuff in every way.

breathtaking expressionist experimental grotesque oneiric horror hardcore nightmare

The summary could be enough to describe this film! MONDO WEIRDO: A TRIP TO PARANOIA PARADISE (the international title of Jungfrau Am Abgrund) is one of the greatest movies of all times! Of course we're not talking of conventional cinema...this is pure madness, a sick perverted hallucinating nightmare! It keeps you glued to the screen, from the first second to the last one!!! Non-stop breaking madness underlined, no, glorified by a soundtrack that alone could be one of the TOP experimental/new-wave records of the 80s, if only it had come out as a record! This movie has got it all: horror, grotesque, surrealism, expressionism, sick hardcore sex (straight, homo and lesbo), grand-guignol, insanity! All put together with such a brilliant taste...of course a sick taste...but so powerful, inventive, fresh, bursting...it's similar to the early works of people like Richard Kern and Nick Zedd (NY Underground cinema), but WAY more intense and breathtaking! I watched it the first time in 1992. It went straight to my cortex, it kinda possessed me for days, months, its images kept on floating in my mind, along with that incredible music! I watched it countless times, and it never gets boring...it's like listening to a great record...the more you know it the more you enjoy it when you put it on!!! ...few films can have this quality, let me tell you!!! This is no doubt Andersen's masterpiece...and even if no other will follow, I think he should deserve a first place in the history of sick movie-making! This movie is now in my DNA!

P.S. it's from 1989, not 1990!

This movie should be used in film school

To show how not to make a movie. Extraordinary in its poverty of ideas, direction, sound and photography. This is a movie full of bad clichés where the director has been influenced by nostalgic movies of the 20s and 30s and did not realise that such saccharine sentiments are not useful if you chuck in the odd uninspired and out of place slapstick moment. I assume family members put the money up for this awful production and I can only hope it did not bankrupt the family. Considering the religious settings I was surprised there was no effort to show a positive opinion of young people. At least the makers dream of making a movie was met. The audience will be poorly disappointed and egg making sounds a great idea.
