Y.M.I. unflinchingly demystifies teen suicide. It is a study of dark forces lurking in the lives of teenagers today. The story unveils three high school seniors who dress and live by the philosophy of "Goth," good friends and great rebels: Digger, Noisy, and DVD. They decide to celebrate Digger's 18th birthday by breaking every rule of what they consider a "shallow and hypocritical society" by planning a suicide as a manifestation of their eternal freedom, thus "to die and become immortal." Before they carry this out, they want to truly experience life on the edge and they devise a plan by which their suicides will make them legends. The story follows them and the people they encounter on their way to their destination.

Review :

Poorly researched and scattered plot lines

Y.M.I. is a poorly researched, scattered portrayal of the adolescent underworld and Goth lifestyle. For such a dark subject, it's dramatically over-acted and the plot tries way too hard to keep you guessing. The movie follows three "Goth" teenagers on a mission to taste all that life has to offer before committing suicide in a way that will shock their way into fame after death. Believing that they will avoid the mundane reality of life and live forever as immortals, they think of anything they haven't done before and try their best to experience their morbid curiosities. Resembling the style of David Lynch, Y.M.I. has scattered and irrelevant sub plots, desperately attempting to lure viewers with random pornographic scenes and unexplained cliff hangers which are never fully understood. Unfortunately, the only claim to fame Y.M.I. might achieve is on an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 ... oh, wait, they canceled that show. Too bad.
